Are you Vacationing?

Please note: if a student will be away from the school for hunting, vacation, etc. for more than 3 consectutive days, a Prolonged Absence Form must be completed. This form is available in the main office and after being filled out is taken to all teachers so that they may provide you with homework/assignments etc. while you are away. The form is then returned to the office to be signed by the principal.

Absences, medical appts etc.

Absences may be called into the school at any time by calling 613-332-1220 and pressing 4 for the attendance mailbox. Parents/guardians can leave a message that their student will be absent on a certain day and state the reason why they will be away.

Going to be away more than 3 days:

Vacations, hunting absences and extended absences of more than 3 days require a Prolonged Absence form to be completed. Students may pick this form up in the front office.  The form is taken to all teachers for work assignments that will be missed during the absence then  home for parents/guardians signature and back to the school for the principal's signature.

Moving?

Reminder: If you move or your student moves please contact the school to update the Student database and set up new busing as required from the new location. Please note that it sometimes takes Tri-board several days to process a change in bus.

SAFETY

Responsible citizenship involves appropriate participation in the civic life of the school community. Active and engaged citizens are aware of their rights, but more importantly, they accept responsibility for protecting their rights and the rights of others.

ALL MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY

MUST:

  • Must respect and comply with all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws.
  • Must demonstrate honesty and integrity.
  • Must respect differences in people, their ideas, and their opinions.
  • Must treat one another with dignity and respect at all times, and especially when there is disagreement.
  • Must respect and treat others fairly, regardless of, for example, race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
  • Must respect the rights of others.
  • Must show proper care and regard for school property and the property of others.
  • Must take appropriate measures to help those in need.
  • Must seek assistance from a member of the school staff, if necessary, to resolve conflict peacefully.

All students, parents, teachers, and staff members have the right to be safe, and to feel safe, in their school community.  With this right comes the responsibility to contribute to a positive school climate.

  • Must not engage in bullying behaviours.
  • Must not swear at a teacher or at another person in a position of authority.
  • Must not commit sexual assault.
  • Must not traffic weapons or illegal drugs.
  • Must not give alcohol to a minor.
  • Must not commit robbery.
  • Must not be in possession of any weapon, including firearms.
  • Must not use any object to threaten or intimidate another person.
  • Must not cause injury to any person with an object.
  • Must not be in possession of, or be under the influence of, or provide others with alcohol or illegal drugs.
  • Must not inflict or encourage others to inflict bodily harm on another person.
  • Must not engage in hate propaganda and other forms of behaviour motivated by hate or bias.
  • Must not commit an act of vandalism that causes extensive damage to school property or to property located on the premises of the school.
